Hey guys i built a new system with a 13700k and have not found out that this cpu can bend? and to get a antibend bracket like the ones they sell on Amazon. so I would need to remove the CPU cooler and unscrew the old socket install this new one and reapply the cooler with a new paste? is it worth doing? thanks!

It helps with temps a fair bit, something like 7-8C if you're using a custom water loop. If you're using something a bit less flat like say a Noctua cooler the temp improvement will be a less impressive.

It's usually worth it, though it admittedly will depending on what you're doing with your system whether it would work.

i have a kraken 240 cooler aio. would you take apart your build to install it? could I have bent my CPU in the last 2 weeks since built it. my temps are fine I'm just doing it so nothing bends

One of those AIOS should be in the middle, so a ~5C improvement in all core workloads is what I'd expect.

I probably would take apart my system to install it (I currently do have one installed as well), but I'm one of those weirdos who find it more fun to tinker with computers than to actually use said computer, so keep that in mind. I'm not really a neutral party in that regard.

Technically it will have bent a bit in the two weeks, though since on 13th/14th gen they stiffened the IHS a bit the amount it would have bent is much less than a 12th gen chip and not really going to be all that bad in the long run.

The CPUs start to bend immediately, it's just that it won't be affected that much within 2 weeks. It doesn't show up that evidently on 13th/14th gen parts, though if it was a 12th gen part you might be able to see something with the naked eye putting it against a straight edge.

i hate being a perfectionist lol

lol I get you, I alternate between "everything must be 100% perfect and I won't stop until it is" and "this being held together with duct tape and a prayer is fine" in most things I do. This is one of the things where I'm luckily (?) closer to the held to duct tape side.
