Computer turned server

So im fairly new to the server scene, and i was looking at turning my older computer into a server for NAS as well as IP camera server. I dont know the motherboard of top.of head, but i know it supports GEN 4 Pcie, my question is, whatbare some good expansion cards for Gen4 NVME raid controlling for the NAS. As well as some good POE Expansion cards to connect to the IP cameras

Use software RAID like ZFS (either in TrueNAS, or roll your own server). Except in bleeding-edge scenarios, you won't need PCIe G4 for a storage server. An old LSI HBA in IT mode (9207-8i or 9300-16i) is a good choice if you need more SATA ports than your motherboard supports.

There's no such thing as a PoE card... IP cameras would connect to a PoE switch, then connect to a standard NIC in the server from there.

Ahh i see. Wasnt sure if an 4 port NIC would be able.to be used like that or not. That would explain why my google searches werent showing any results. Thank you.
