My motherboard recently died so my pc wouldn't turn on so I got a new motherboard (and then I finally got it to turn on but I get no display and my gpu doesn't seem to be spinning. The gpu is not fried because I tried it in my old pc and it starts spinning up and works. I've checked all the plugs and repeated it multiple times and can't get anything to work. Also worth nothing that my keyboard doesn't light up while plugged in either.( my motherboard is a ASUS Prime b450m-a II

What GPU do you have and is all the power connectors plugged in properly into the gpu? And is it seated properly in the pcie slot?

Rx 6700 XT

I'm pretty sure I've double checked multiple times that everything is plugged in right. I've also plugged in my older rx 580 and when plugged I'm it's led lights up but still no display with it. I plug on my gt 730 that doesn't require any power connectors and the fans spin for 3 seconds and then stop

I think you need to update the BIOS. That's problematic as you need an older gen CPU to do so.  I have a Prime B450-Plus board with the same problem when using my 3700X. The board lights up and the CPU fan spins but no video output. It says 3000 and 5000 series ready on the box but it seems it isn't and reviews @ Amazon indicates that as well.. I've ordered a used Athlon 200GE to use to update the BIOS.

BTW are you sure the old board is dead? Have you tried clearing CMOS. I bought a used h87 board recently which seemed stone dead on arrival but after clearing CMOS it worked just fine. Likewise I bought a Asrock B450 Steel Legend board which was advertised as not working for about 40 bucks along with a Ryzen 1600. I looked up the board and found that the 1600 was not supported. Then I got a 2600 for it and it works great. Also sold the 1600 for 45 bucks. The point being that just because a board seems dead doesn't necessarily mean it is.

Thanks I will try that!

Yeah I tried the cmos with the old motherboard multiple times and ended up factory resetting after it failed to reset like 20+ saying it couldn't recognize any of the cards and then a few days later my computer just turned off and wouldn't boot up and I ruled it out to probably be the motherboard fried.
