Hello guys, i am new to pc builds, so what happened is that, I was installing windows 10 in my new pc, so everything was going great,I have 512gb ssd in my system, so the window where we select where we need to install windows instead of selecting the disc , I pressed on ‘new’ and set the disk size to 256gb. So now when the whole setup is completed I can only see 256gb in my system. How do I increase the size please help. Thank you

the first thing i would try is to open disk manager and see if the drive has any unused unformatted space. if so you could just create a new volume and have the drive split. otherwise i think the only other way to fix that is reinstall windows and just select the drive, dont set the partition to less than the max drive size

You could create a new partition in the empty space with Disk Manager, but then your files (and empty space) are spread out over both of them. That works fine, but it can get inconvenient.

The easiest way to solve this issue is to reinstall Windows, especially if you haven't used it yet. Delete all the partitions, then select the empty space and let the installer create the biggest partition it can.

You can use a tool like GParted to extend the existing Windows partition into the remaining empty space, but that takes more time and effort. (Especially if you've never used GParted before.)

I sold my soul for ProSupport.
