cpu Looking for a new CPU

Hello, Right now I'm sitting with a B250m Bazooka motherboard and a 2060 GPU. My CPU how ever is a i5-7400 and is sitting at 100% usage at almost all times. I believe my CPU is having trouble because its 4 Core not being able to keep up with All the things I have going. So I was wondering what would be a reasonable Upgrade for my computer Price and performance wise?

You could get a boost in multitasking performance by upgrading to an i7 7700. It has the same number of cores as your CPU but is a bit faster and also has hyperthreading which makes it so the cores can be utilized more efficiently. If you sell yours it probably wouldn't cost you much. Don't know what they go for though. Be cautious if it's a 7700k as these are overclockable and could be damaged from that if it's been done incorrectly. You should be able to tell from the little devices on the bottom if it's good or not. Anything burnt or in any way damaged looking means it's bad.

 

You should also look at if there is some issue with your OS or software, malware for instance. Antivirus and security software can also be a culprit for high CPU usage.
