Changed CPU cooler, no post.

Go to solution Solved by YuukiLikesComputers,

Update, I left the system plugged in with the PSU off, turned it on this morning, all magically worked. Thanks for the quick replies and good help.

System Specs:

PSU: EVGA 750 GS

Motherboard: Asus TUF Gaming x570

CPU: R5 5600x

CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken 240

GPU: EVGA XC3 3070

Boot Drive: WD_Black SN750 1tb

Case: NZXT H500

Windows 10

I tried to switch my CPU Cooler from a BeQuiet Shadow Rock to the NZXT Kraken 240 today, but after the install it just doesn’t want to post. RGB on the mobo is lit up, but pressing start button or jumping pins on board does not seem to work. None of the fans come on, and the RGB on the GPU doesn’t turn on.

Steps I’ve tried:

Checked all connections (mobo 12 pin, cpu 8&4 pin)

Tested PSU (Hard drive spins when 12 pin is jumped)

Reinstalled CPU (no bent pins, cooler tightened in x pattern until hand tight)

Reinstalled Boot SSD

Reinstalled GPU

Any more steps you guys would try? Back to the old cooler?

Try loosening the cooler's mounting screw.

How are you able to turn the computer on right now? Are the fans plugged into the mobo? Are you getting any image output? Double check that GPU power is plugged too.

PC Doesn’t turn on at all, doesn’t respond to power button or jumping motherboard. No image output, GPU cables plugged in

Nope, nothing, it wasn’t very tight to begin with, really not sure what could’ve happened.

Tried changing to the old cooler and see if it works normally yet ?
