PC crashing during while gaming

This is for my friends PC which I built.

CPU: I5 2500k @stock

Mobo: Gigabyte z68 ud3

PSU: Cooler Master Extreme Power plus 700w

Storage Kingston SSD and WD 1TB black

GPU: Radeon HD 7770 @stock

RAM 8GB G.skill

Windows 7

 

So the only game that does not crash is league of legends, every steam game, guildwars2 and Battlefield3 all crash after a few minutes into the game. Undemading games even crash like Magicka and Torchlight.

This might be frowned upon but, a certain type of Borderlands 2 does not crash., which I find interesting.

 

Symptoms

• Crashing causing a full reboot
• Reboots taking abnormally long times

 

Thing I have tried.

• Swapping the 7770 into my pc and RMA'ing the card
• Swapping Ram
• Swapping PSU
• Swapping HDD but not swapping the SSD
• Checking the temps
• Running MSI kombuster
• Checking the ram timings
• Booting with 1 Ram stick and 1 HDD
• New drivers
• Prime 95

Things I have not tried

• Memtest 86
• Swapping CPU
• Swapping Motherboard
• Analyzing the even viewer erros

I would recommend you to look into event viewer to see if there are anything crashing at the time of the freeze. I would also recommend you to do a clean install of windows to see if it is a software issue.

i would subtest doing things like monitoring temps, install new MOBO BIOS as this helped me when i had a game that did not work. i would also run smart on your hdd and see that it is still working perfectly.
