First PC build

Go to solution Solved by Why_Me,

@MisterR if going with a B760 board then look at a locked cpu such as this one down below.  Here are a few suggestions for your build.

MSI B760 GAMING PLUS WIFI €164,11

ARGB version of that cpu cooler.

Rear exhaust fan for that case down below.

https://www.kaina24.lt/search?q=ACFAN00120A

ARCTIC P12 PWM PST 120mm 4-Pin Case Fan (ACFAN00120A) €5.83

https://www.kaina24.lt/search?q=fractal+design+focus+2

Fractal Design Focus 2 ATX Mid Tower Case €66,51

https://www.fractal-design.com/products/cases/focus/focus-2/rgb-black-tg-clear-tint/

Budget (including currency): 2000 Euros

Country: Lithuania

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: CS2, AutoCad, SolidWorks.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I am looking to build my self a new pc, so I have put together this build for now:

  • Motherboard :
    MSI B760 Gaming Plus WiFi (181 €)
  • CPU :
     Intel Core i7-13700K (470 €)
  • GPU :
    Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Windforce OC 12G (GV-N4070WF3OC-12GD) (671 €)
  • RAM :
    G.Skill Ripjaws S5, 32GB (2x16GB), 6000 MHz (120,54 €)
  • Powersuply :
    Cooler Master V Series V850 Gold - V2 - Netzteil - 850 Watt (143,50 €)
  • Case :
Lian Li LANCOOL II Mesh Performance (147 €)
  • CPU Cooling:
Lian Li Galahad II 360 Trinity ARGB (141,99 €)

First of all I have some questions :

  1. Is this a good and balanced build? (Will I get bottlenecked, etc.)
  2. Are these parts even compatible with each other?
  3. Are the prices good?
  4. Is this a future proof build?

The reason that I went for this build is because :

  1. I want it to be future proof.
  2. I want it to be able to handle anything I throw at it, at the moment I don't really have the time to play a lot of games, but as new games have came out (hogwarts legacy etc.) I will want to play them in the cold winter evenings.

For now I will use it with LG UltraGear 27GN650 1080p 144 Hz monitor, but later down the line I plan to upgrade it to 1440p 240Hz.

For storage I have a samsung 980 1TB NVME ssd.

Thank you for your feedback!

Out of curiosity, what made you choose intel?

If someone has helped you out on the forum don't forget to give them a reaction to say thank you!

you sure you only wanna use 32 gigs for running cad and solidworks? cuz im pretty sure thats not "futureproof" even though that isnt a thing

  • 1. It's not bad but for sure optimizations can be made as:
    • Get a arctic liquid freezer cooler cheaper and better
    • 32gb ram is NOT a lot for your workflow
    • 12gb vram isnt a lot
  • Yes
  • No
  • Nothing is future proof but this one is kinda closed off

Id also look at a used 3090. That extra vram is gonna do a LOT.

I wonder if you could get a better deal if you bought from Germany

To be honest I like intel more, not sure why tho, I have Ryzen 7 in my laptop right now, and there are no problems with it, but in short I guess it's just a choice based on marketing 😄

What would you recommend? I will not be using it for industrial use, for now I only use it for university. In my opinion if I need it in the future I can just add two more sticks of ram.

That's fair, I was mostly curious if those programs needed Intel for some reason or another
