Hi guys,

Recently I’ve been having trouble with my pc which seems to be completely random and I can’t figure out what could be causing it.

Over the past month and a half I’ve been getting random WHEA errors and all my displays will go black, and the only way to bring them back is to reboot my pc. 2 of times it’s happened the fans on my GPU have also spun up to 100% at the same time. The problem is it’s so inconsistent that I cannot figure out what would be causing it. It has only happened 3 times in the past ~6 weeks, two of them happening within the same week and then once again last night.

I’ve already tried some things:

  • Disabling ASPM in the BIOS
  • Wiping drivers with DDU
  • Re-seating GPU/blowing dust out of slot etc
  • Updated BIOS

Unfortunately none of these seem to have helped 😞

Specs:

12900ks (mounted with contact frame)

Maximus Z690 Hero

32GB TeamGroup T-Force Delta 6200

4090 Suprim X

Corsair HX1000i

Running Windows 11 (insider build)

I do have a slight undervolt on my v/f curve, which I have had for months and hasn’t seemed to have caused any instability, so I don’t think it’s that.

The only other thing I have thought it might be is to do with the contact frame mounting pressure, because even though I’ve had the contact frame for over a year with no issues, I did recently change my custom loop cpu block, which could have changed the mounting pressure?

Apart from that I’m really stuck and appreciate any help/suggestions

Thanks guys
