Hello, I have the following games that use Directx 12:

1. Atomic Heart (Xbox game pass)

2. Lies of P (Xbox game pass)

3. Witcher 3 (Steam)

while playing any of the games I will get a black screen for 1 ~ 3 seconds and then

the game will not detect what type of controller i'm using causing the game ui to show xbox one buttons and keyboard icons. Also it does not matter if i'm using keyboard or the controller it will happen.

this is only happening in games that are running on Directx 12.

example of the game UI after black screen happen:

image.thumb.png.3c0837ae548d1e7193b33420aabc056e.png

the game UI will show the icons quickly this happens in all mentioned games when the black screen happen.

Also when this happen I can go out of the game normally (aka pressing windows key) while the game showing black screen.

PC specs:

1.  CPU: AMD RYZEN 9 3900xt

2. GPU: RTX 2070 Super

3. RAM: 32 GB

4. MB: MSI x570 meg unify

5. OS: windows 10 pro Build Version: 22H2 19045.3448 (installed before 2 weeks ago)

6. Drive: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1 TB

Things I Tried:

1. remove gpu drivers using DDU utility in safe mode and reinstall drivers and update from nvidia experience

2. enable GPU debug

3. disable anti-aliasing from nvidia control panel

4. delete Directx Shader cache

Thanks.

Its more of a Directx 12 issue then your computer.

You should be able to switch from Directx 12 to 11

Hello @agatong439

thank you so much for your reply. I just checked and I found that I have bitlocker enabled (drive encryption) do you think it causes issues with Directx 12 ?

Which Bios version do you have on your motherboard?

If it's an old one, you might be experiencing the USB issues AMD had a long time ago.

Hello, @191x7

thank you so much for your reply. My Bios version is: E7C35AMS.AC0 Build Date: 17-03-2022

I don't think the issue is from the USB since I played ori and the blind forest for hours using the controller and I did not get the issue

You have a troublesome AGESA version (1.2.0.6.), update your Bios.

Also, it's 4-5 versions outdated.

Make sure to use the latest chipset drivers too

https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am4/x570

Also, don't forget to use Samsung Magician

https://semiconductor.samsung.com/consumer-storage/internal-ssd/970evoplus/

If there's a firmware update for the SSD, update it.

Nope this did not solve the problem yet. The issue still exists.

Ok, try disabling the Multiplane Overlay MPO next.
