GPU Memory overclock speed help

ldmendes7

I have a 2070 super and I can stably overclock the core to +130 MHz and memory to +1000 MHz.

However I’ve seen online that as the memory is error correcting, running at the highest memory speed can actually cause you to loose some frames?

Is this true? Should I lower it to something around +600 MHz? How would I find the optimal speed? When looking at the fps on kombustor, there seems to be no difference between 600 and 1000 MHz, both producing 1900 frames at the 30 second mark.

Thanks in advance.  🙂

Try more benchmarking software like 3dmark and see your score with different speeds. I dont think rtx 20 series has ecc memory though and if it did its off by default on geforce cards.

Oh ok, yeah I ran a lot of time spy’s and the GPU score averages were as follows:

@+600MHz 10490

@+800MHz 10540

@+1000MHz it was 10600

So I guess the answer is, higher the better for this card.

Thanks for your help 🙂
