Should i upgrade my cpu or gpu first? I have a i5 7600k and a gtx 1060 6gb right now. I mostly play Counter Strike 2, Forza horizon 5 and would like to play warzone when i upgrade.

They are both showing significant age, what is your budget?
I would personaly change the CPU first.

I really don't have a budget right now.

Im probably gonna upgrade the cpu.

Do you plan on going for a 7700k or a full platform upgrade?  When you say: No budget right now, people will think you have unlimited dollars to spend.. Is that true? 🙂

I planning on getting a Ryzen 5 7600. And I worded that a bit wrong I don't have a unlimited budget.

Ryzen 7600 is an excellent choice!  It's my favorite CPU 🙂  Its well priced, does incredibly well in gaming and draws only 65w of power.. Its an efficiency beast!
I use a 7700x myself and love it, built a few systems with the 7600 as well.

Consider a PSU upgrade maybe too. 500 watts is getting a little thin nowadays. Pick a good PSU though. My preference is a Corsair modular unit about 750-850 Watts for a budget build. Seasonic PSUs are good units too

It adds a little headroom for future upgrades, like gfx cards. Gfx cards start demanding more power as time goes on...

Intel Core i9 10920x CPU; ASUS ROG Strix x299-E Gaming II Motherboard; 64 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 MHz Quad Channel Kit; EVGA RTX 3070 XC3 ULTRA Gaming 8 GB; 2 TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe m.2 SSD & 1 TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe m.2 SSD; 1 TB WD Blue SATA SSD; 2x 6 TB HGST DeskStar NAS Hard Drives; Corsair iCUE H150i RGB PRO XT All In One Cooler; Corsair RM1000x 1000 Watt PSU; Corsair Commander Pro Lighting & Fan control; 4x Corsair HD120 RGB 120 mm fans - Intake ; Lian Li 011-Dynamic Razer Edition cube case, Windows 11 Pro 24H2

What do you mean by 750-850w for a budget build? I use a 750w on my 7700x and overclocked RTX 4080, I dont consider this a budget build at all. 850w is enough even for an RTX 4090.
And that graphics cards demand more power as times goes on? The 4080 outperforms the 3090 quite well with the 3090 drawing 360w and the 4080 drawing 320w, so less power with more performance.

They do draw more power than the 900 or 1000 series, thats true 🙂

I do agree that a PSU upgrade is not a bad idea though!

Headroom for future upgrades...

@Hinjima I'd use a good 1000 Watt PSU 80+ Gold rated  at least for the hardware you have, if I built such a system... but that's me.

if your V8 has a 2 barrel carb , don't expect good results on the drag strip...
