Hey so my pc wont boot up because of a cpu fan error, i had previously solved the problem by plugging the aio 3pin cable into the right place. but the error would happen again after starting the pc i had to remove then put the cable back on for it to boot, but now ive tried everything and i still get the cpu fan error pls help.

If the AIO uses a basic cable, that's usually just to signal to the motherboard that the pump has malfunctioning (this is when the pump uses SATA or USB to get its power). If that header isn't functioning and therefore spitting an error, I'd suggest plugging in one of the radiator fans into that CPU_FAN header instead, and plug the pump into an AUX or CASE header.

Just keep in mind that this may solve your issue, but there might be an issue with your AIO's pump or that connector that doing this might obfuscate a problem now or in the future.

The CPU will usually check for CPU_FAN as apart of the system's POST, so its usually a requirement for the system to function, being why you get an error when it's malfunctioning.

so now the pc boots up and no more cpu fan error but the pump goes nuts, you said to plug the pump into an aux or case header but ive tried every header and the aio still goes crazy mode

Huh, does it come with an ARGB header?

What do you mean by goes crazy? Flashing lights? Does it have RGB or are these warning lights of some sort? High speed? Fans whirring to max?

Finally what type of plug/fitting does it have into mobo?

What AIO is it?

If it uses SATA power to function and then a single 2 or 3 wire fan header, then its possible the SATA power connection is intermittently disconnecting or damaged.

Could always try a different SATA header. Some AIOs also use a modular connector into the pump for its SATA/RGB/etc, so verifying that hasn't become loose.

If you tell us what specific AIO it is, we might be able to help you better as well. There's clearly an issue with the AIO or its connections, so that at least narrows the potential faults.
