have you turned on bitlocker on your install? you can just disable it in windows first..
usually it makes no sense to have it on a desktop.. unless you want everything encrypted.. but most don't due to disk speed delays.
on a work laptop i can understand it, and see they through enterprise settings often turn it on if you want or not.
