So I have a H500p mesh case and I was wondering if I could get better CPU temps by changing my 360 AIO Deepcool Castle v2 from the top to the front and use the included 200mm as intakes and still have the 3x120mm on the rad as a pull config. I have 3 MF120R fans that I was wanting to put on the top after this. My current max temp is 85ºC on the CCD and 80.3ºC on the package.  

 

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x (PBO2 hitting 5ghz While gaming)

GPU: Asus Strix RX 5700 XT

Mobo: Asus Crosshair VIII Hero

Mem: Gskill trident Z 3600mhz 2*8gb

PSU: Gigabyte 750M 80+gold

Storage: 1x HDD 931GB Seagate ST1000DM003-1CH162NVME 1x NVME 931GB Western Digital WDC WDS100T2B0C-00PXH0

Cooler: Deepcool CASTLE 360RGB V2

So max temp is 80C, it is completely fine, at this point, better temps won't give you anything besides peace of mind.

 

Whatever adjustment you make with the fans config won't be significant enough to improve temps drastically.

 

Maybe try a steeper fan curve and pump speed curve first.

Occassionaly visits the forum when I have nothing to do at work.

Yes, if you move the AIO to the front on intake, there is data that shows it'll produce a significant,  but not large, improvement.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

I'm trying to get it down just because I do not think 80ºC is good for the cpu's expected life. I may be very wrong though.

I am inclined to feel the same way - if CPUs can be dropped to sub-zero temperatures and that allows them to operate at insanely high clock rates, and heat destroys circuitry over time, it is certainly a good idea to try to control the CPU temperature. Thus, moving the AIO to the front, figuring out the optimal fan configuration, undervolting the CPU, buying the best cooler you can afford, etc. are all good choices.
