Budget (including currency): As low as possible but under €900

Country: Belgium

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Assassin's Creed Mirage/Valhalla, Hogwarts legacy, ... and software development

Other details:

I have a 1440p 75hz 31" monitor and a 1080p 60Hz monitor.

Want to keep my GPU, Case, Hard drives and regular SSD (and PSU if possible).

My PC right now:

CPUi5-6600K MotherboardGigabyte GA-Z170-HD3P CPU Cooler: Thermalright True Spirit 120M Black/white RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB DDR4 2400Mhz GPU: Gigabyte 1070 PSU: Coolermaster 550W 80+ Gold Case: NZXT S340 (White) SSDSamsung EVO 850 500GB

When playing those games currently I get bluescreens pretty often with the message: Memory management, and my CPU is often at 100% when gaming.

I regret getting an i5 over an i7 all those years ago as that seems to be my bottleneck, so this time I'd like to go with AMD AM5 socket (for future proofing) or an i7 or i9 so it'll last as long as possible, my GPU seems to do fine for 1080p right now.

Do you guys think getting a Ryzen 7 7800X3D is a good idea?

And then a B650 or X670?

I'd like to get 32 GB ram (DDR5?) and a new cooler?

Is all this possible with my current PSU?

I'd like to have an idea of what best to upgrade and buy it in pieces, maybe keep my ram/PSU for now and wait for black friday.

I recommend a case replacement because the s340 has very poor airflow and simply put it cannot handle a high end cpu from these days. There isn't enough space or airflow to allow for it to be properly cooled. The only other option would be to remove the side panel of the s340 as that will give for about enough fresh air.

What 550w coolermaster is it? The model nr please.

What case would you recommend? That is something I can buy before I do the other purchases. Right now I have a back and white theme with white leds, and I'll probably need some case fans too, would you recommend an AIO or just an air cooler?

no point getting a 7800x3d with a 1070. i would get the 7600. sure it will bottleneck it first but you can always upgrade to the x3d when it has come down in price a lot

The point is future proofing with cpu now, maybe I'll get a GPU upgrade next year.

A Ryzen 7 7800X3D costs €399 vs the €344 Ryzen 7 7700 isn't the X3D a lot better to be worth the price bump?

what im saying is if you buy a 7600 for 200 now (idk how much it is) and you save 200 then in 3-4 years you sell it and lets say have 275 which would probbably be enough to get you the theoretacle 8600

With $450 you can even get a 7600 and a 7600 (GPU), for a 7600 square system 😄

The 7600 is 60% faster than a 1070 and eats less power as well, you'll be fine with your PSU

True but I'd rather get the 6700 xt. Or they could do a full upgrade without the gpu upgrade and do that later

To me at this low of a budget? Id focus in getting the hardware first. S340 has a very easy to open front panel so free intake is there.
