And do you already have said laptop? For the cash investment you can just buy a proper eGPU enclosure or just buy a Z11 PC in the first place.

And Z11 aint small. at all. Theyre more comparable to the 4000D.

Uhm and why would I do that?  Yes I have the laptop and handheld already and I know the case is not small.  It's only purpose is the ability to house my water cooling components and and my atx power supply.  I know a water cooled RTX 3090 is overkill for an eGPU, might even hit the limits but it's what I have and have to work with.

Also why would I buy an eGPU, they are overpriced and hard to service when something breaks, let alone being able to upgrade parts.

This build with case but without Thunderbolt 4 hub cost me around $250, with the hub to make it a one cable build cost me $370.  Way cheaper and probably much better than any eGPU you can buy.

If you weren't that passive aggressive about it I would've answered you like a normal polite being but I guess you going to play that: Internet is filled with stupid idiot thinking they're witty with this configuration when they don't even have a good PC to begin with.

And its not like those enclosure boards are reliable to begin with, they also have the same issue of eGPU dock on handshakes especially for pcie 4.0 link between card and laptop. but theoretically it should work on paper.

Let me start to say that I was not trying to be passive aggressive, I was just sharing my build, I wasn't expected to be questioned about it.  Now to come back to your remark.  I agree, hence I plan to make my own that in case something breaks I can repair it.
