If you're going to be sitting down the majority of the time playing msfs and f1 then I would probably recommend the Quest 2 (with a sync cable) since you can adjust the refresh rate and you won't need anything more than the tracking that it does, it'd be the most affordable too. If you have the money then maybe get the Vive XR Elite? I'm assuming your computer will decently be able to run VR since you're asking. I feel like any of the headsets with base station tracking would just be a pain since you'll be sitting down driving or flying.

I think my computer should be ok for vr. I have an r9 5900x with a 3080ti and 32gb ram. Would I need a 4080/4090?

Oh that's plenty. I used to run VR well on a 2080, so next gen plus the ti will be perfectly fine haha. Currently run my index on a 5900x and 3080 and never really have any issues whatsoever. Might be a little slow with msfs just because it's a demanding game, but it'll still be nice.
