Hey,

yesterday I ordered parts for my first pc ever. But today I woke up with a few concerns.

The parts are:

-Ryzen 5 5500

-XFX 6650XT

-32GB 3200Mhz Lexar Thor ram

-Thermalright Assassin 120 SE Cooler

-Asrock B450m Pro4 R2.0

-FSP DAGGER Pro 550W 80+ Gold

-Marc Gaming Case (3 fans installed)

-1TB Crucial P3

Total costed me 620€.

So basically I have these concerns. I dont know much about tech thats why.

1. Are the Vrms good on the mainboard?

2. Is the mainboard ryzen 5000 ready?

3. Ive been using a HP Pavilion X360 with an i5-1135g7 since 3 years. I never had a pc. Will the performance of the pc be way better than my laptop or about the same?

4. Are 550W enough for an 6650xt? Will just be used casual. Not overclocked or anything.

5. Is lexar thor ram good or should I switch it to another brand?

6. Is the price okay or did I spend too much? Pc parts are currently really expensive here.

I would appreciate every answer. Thx.

Good enough for a 5500.

From the CPU support list, it was first sold with Ryzen 3000 support out of the box.

Ryzen 5 5500 support was added with BIOS P5.4, which I believe is dated 10 March 2022.

ASRock have updated their listing to say that it supports Ryzen 5000 which probably means that they now ship with a compatible BIOS, but obviously I can't speak for the turnover @ the store.

I checked listings on big sites (like amazon and newegg, but I can't find any recent customer reviews that could help you.

It may come with a sticker on the box that says it is Ryzen 5000 ready.

The Passmark scores suggest that it is a decent upgrade in single and multicore performance, but if you'll notice and how much it matters for your workload(s), I couldn't say.

I can't comment on the graphics card, because I don't know what GPU the laptop uses.

A decent 550, sure, no problem. A bad one? Probably not.

What country? It seems reasonable for 600 euro. I couldn't find all of your parts (case+PSU), so this naturally comes out cheaper.

And one more. Does the mainboard have all the cable slots I need? Dont know how to check that one.

The motherboard? I'm not sure what you mean by "cable slots"? Cable slots for what? RGB and fans? Checking this is a pain, honestly, because they are not standardised, so you have to be careful. The way I do it, is check the manual for the case and/or fans installed the case, which can tell you what connectors they use. The fans themselves are usually fairly simple, 3 pin or 4 pin PWM, which any modern motherboard can deal with.

The most important thing with RGB is that the voltage is right, you don't want to plug a 12v device into a 5v header and vice versa.

A lot of cases come with pre-installed splitters (so you only connect the fans once, or in some cases: fan controllers, so without checking the manual, I'm not sure what power leads you'll need.

fort that question, that Lexar RAM is fine (even quite good for (i guess) cheap 3200MHz ram as Cl 16 is not a bad memory timing)  just buy the cheapest 3200 MHz ram with okay timings (Cl 16), as you are on quite a thigh budget.

Everything looks fine. Pretty much every motherboard is good for a Ryzen 5500. The mobo also has 5V A-RGB lead as well as 12V RGB, so you got to be careful where you plug what. But why did you go for a separate cooler ? The 5500 comes boxed with Wraith Stealth which is WAAAAY more than enough for it. If you add the money from the cooler to the GPU, you can get 7600 or even a 6700XT.

| 4x16GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo 4000MHz CL16 | Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6900 XT | Seasonic Focus GX-1000|

| 512GB A-Data XPG Spectrix S40G RGB | 2TB A-Data SX8200 Pro| Phanteks Eclipse G500A |
