Got a lot of good advice on previous post: https://linustechtips.com/topic/1530261-update-or-replace-gaming-pc/

Wanted to get some advice & recommendations on a concrete build.
My main issue is that I am undecided on the GPU, with two conflicting positions. On one hand, I would like to relatively future-proof myself from getting a new build anytime soon. My current build is ~12yrs old and still works fine.
On the other hand, I don't game as much as I used to, and don't really go for many AAA games. The games used to benchmark most of the GPUs that I've watched on LTT or yt, were completely unfamiliar to me.

This is the highest I would go w.r.t. to the GPU, so I put the 4080 there. But I am also considering any from 4060, 4060Ti, 4070, 4070Ti.
I've even gotten some comments that suggest getting a 30 generation card.
Does this setup make sense?

The peripherals and monitor I am using are:
Monitor: Dell S3422DWG https://www.alza.cz/EN/34-dell-s3422dwg-d6622171.htm?evt=ac
Keyboard: Razer Ornata V2 https://www.alza.cz/EN/razer-ornata-v2-d6104407.htm?evt=ac
Mouse: Razer Ouroboros

Thank you all for the help and suggestions!

Couldn't you go for a 4090 and a 13900k?

@filpo Hey, thanks for the comment.
To be honest, I wasn't able to make a build containing the 4090 that comes close to price to the build I posted here.
Additionally, I read that the i9 and 4090 require water cooling, in order to keep it working properly, and that it's much harder for maintenance. I don't know if this is true or not?

@filpo Hey, thanks again for the quick responses.
Can I pick your brain for a few more things, w.r.t. to the changes you made.

1. the Mobo is not DDR5 compatible. Is this a big performance loss? Will it somehow bottleneck the CPU and GPU. I somehow assumed that if I'll be shelling for premium parts, it makes sense to get DDR5 along with it.
2. The water cooling, will I need to change the water frequently? Or is this water cooling from years ago, I was looking into water cooling last time ~8 yrs ago.
3. There are many manufacturers for the GPU, how should I choose and pick? What's confusing is that the price may wary even 200 euros.
4. I saw that you upped the PSU to 1000W. Will I need a special cable for the GPU, as I read the 4090 needs only 600W

5. The SSD also went from 990 to 980. Is this a negligible difference?

Once again, thanks for all the help!

Edit: Found the same Mobo with DDR5, but ~1500czk more expensive 😄

no it's not a big performance loss at all

No you don't as in AIO's the water doesn't evaporate and doesn't need to be refilled. The water would loop anyways so it wouldn't go to waste

MSI's ventus is good but I'd go for mine

It's better to have more for upgrades in the future

there's a pcie 5.0 cable in the box for the psu

yes since the 980 pro is already blazing fast

I'd still go with ddr4 but if you do want one with ddr5 just tell me
