When are the next gen Airpods coming out?

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted, and I’m posting on mobile, so sorry for formatting. 
 

I have the first gen airpods pro, and they are starting to crap out on me :c Trouble charging, low battery life, connection issues, etc. I wanna buy the Pro Gen 2’s since they are 199 on amazon, but if the 3rd gens are (expected to) be announced/launched in a month or two, then I’d rather hold off. So, is there a general idea when they would possibly be announced?

The airpods gen 3 have already been released for about a year and a bit so if you want to wait for the 4's you can or you can get the 3's. But I would wait for the 4's to come out and get the three

but if you want to get the gen 4's then probably either in two days or at the last event this year. But if it's the pros gen 3 then the earliest would be early spring next year but I would expect something like this time next year for the next pros

Aaah Sorry gotta clarify :c The Airpod Pros 3rd gen. Thank you for the info though! Means alot! Ill wait a week before I purchase ~!

The 2nd gen pro came out last year and Apple generally refreshes the pro products (except for the iPhone) every other year or longer. It's unlikely that we will see another air pod pro for at least another 6 months, probably closer to 18 months. I think it's safe to assume a new Air Pods Max might be just around the corner.

The 4th gen airpods won't be too much better supposedly so if they do announce the airpods 4, I'd wait and see or make another thread (after the event if they release them) asking whether or not to get them

Maybe wait and see if they tease anything there?

I highly doubt they'll announce new airpod Pros at the new event, although i would just hold off and see what happens anyway since it's tomorrow anyway.

 

With that said though, The 2nd gens aren't bad either. I use them and i also came from the 1st gen and it's pretty much the same, except for some big QOL updates. Like the volume adjustment on the tip itself, the added u1 chip from the airtag for extra precision when finding them (has come in handy SO many times). So if no pros come out of this event, the 2nd gen isn't a bad upgrade either.

JM2C here but there are much much better sounding IEMs available for the same price as airpods IMO, at all levels, from vanilla to pro to max.

Sony and Samsung and Sennheiser all make wireless IEMs that sound good for Bout the same price as vanilla airpods. Arguably, they sound significantly better and more musical. Work with any phone. Just saying. 

And if you were in the market for Airpods Max or something higher level like that I'd stear you towards Sony WH1000XM5 or Sennheiser Momentum 4 both of which, again, IMO, sound waaaaaaaaay better, and cost less too. 

 

The BEST solution though, is to buy those new bluetooth antennas that go over your ears and work with any audiophile IEM, and spend the rest of your money on a really quality standard IEM. Truthear Hexa, 7Hz Timeless, Kiwi Ears Quartet, Moondrop Blessing 3, Sennheiser IE200/300, all of these sound better than any wireless IEM and only things like the XM5 and Momentum 4 can exceed this level of performance. For example, the Bluetooth thingies (I don't know what they're called) OR a bluetooth dac/amp like a Shanling UP4 and a pair of truthear Hexa IEMs can be yours for just shy of $200 USD on Amazon which is about the cost of airpods 3 give or take and you'll have way better sound. But I'm a music and audiophile nerd so YMMV.

Well tbh that's my opinion. I like that they're supposedly gonna release USB C on the iphone but I don't really like how they've done they're most recent releases with WILDLY overprice stuff (Vision Pro is typing...)
