Looking for cpu recommendations

Go to solution Solved by Brooksie359,

Based on the bios updates for your motherboard there is one called  AGESA ComboAm4v2PI 1.2.0.7 in the description. This AGESA update actually updates old 300 series motherboards to be able to support ryzen 5000 series cpus. With that being the case I would shoot for a r5 5600 or r5 5600x depending on the price. Granted you probably want to look into more to make sure that their implementation of the AGESA update includes the ryzen 5000 support which I am not 100% certain about as I am not an expert on bios updates.

Budget (including currency): £100-150

Country: England

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: cyberpunk, Lol, Ark /Ark 2, and anno

Other details: current build is; 3070ti, ryzen 1500x, 750w psu, Msi B350M Gaming Pro, ddr4 16gb 3200 ram. I am running a 3140*1440 165hz monitor but I'm not sure if that's relevant when picking a cpu. I would like a Cpu that will not require new ram or a new mobo. Thanks :)

£150 will get you a 5600X, which will still be slightly limited by DDR4-3200 and your motherboard's power limits. Fair warning: Cyberpunk will see minimal or possibly no uplift when you're using a 3070 Ti at that resolution.

Flash the latest bios.

Install a Ryzen 5700X or a 5600X3D if you have a Microcenter nearby.
