I believe my subwoofers wiring set up had a loose ground and overtime it got more loose to the point where they were making a sound when i would use turn signals or my headlights. When i went to start my car after school, it was a hard start and if i let my foot off the gas, the engine would shut off. Does anyone know if I permanently messed up the electrical system in my car or will it go back to normal after i fix the subwoofer wiring.

it very well might be fine once wiring and grounds are corrected. first step would be to either correct the wiring, or disconnect the whole system until you get the car running right, then add the system back(properly) after(i would personally go for the latter, but up to you). i would also have your alternator tested. depending how much juice you were pulling from the system, i have seen this push alternators over the edge before(autozone/advance does it for free, or use a voltmeter to check if the voltage is at least 13v-13.5v or above while running). how old is the car? i rarely see just one ground strap cause an issue, unless at least some of the others are in bad shape as well.

Seems that sub was set up in a haste. Ideally you wand high amp electrical on a different circuit connecting to either the alternator directly or the battery (a second one would be best, depend on the car and how much space you have though). I would recommend disconnecting all the non original parts and then check your fuses and maybe the relays as well. Also check the voltage on your battery and the alternator. A bad battery and or alternator would drop voltages quite a bit. Older cars may run fine for a while on a weak alternator but newer ones with electronics will refuse to start if certain conditions like voltages are not met. It might also be unrelated and just be some other issue, like a bad fuel pump, throttle body etc.
