Hello I finished my build a month ago with the motherboard Asus ROG Maximus VI: Hero. When I installed the drivers from Asus, I noticed that the driver is from Realtek not for the "SupremeFX" driver. Is the Realtek High Definition Audio the SupremeFX that Asus is advertising?

I think Realtek IS ASUS, just the Audio part.

It is. SupremeFX is supposed to be some rock solid implementation of the Realtek chip. Bare in mind that a cheap $10 DAC is sonically transparent, it's how it's implemented that matters.

Supreme FX is some pretty good audio implementation. This coming from first-hand experience, where my cheapo Genius speakers suddenly sounded like speakers at least 30-50$ higher than their actual costs.

Plus, that means you don't necessarily have to hunt for a sound card with a Supreme FX board. Grab an Amp and you're good to go for most high impedance headphones.

I actually bought the Bose Companion 20 speakers to pair up with it. It sounded odd when I have it on Stereo mode, I have to switch it to 5.1 mode to feel the sound better. When I have it on stereo, its sounded muddy and the vocals sounded like theyre talking inside the cave. Is there a way for me to fix this? I tried using a different PC on the speakers and its better than my rig with the SupremeFX Realtek lol.

There are only a few DAC chips manufacturers that provide their chips for other sound device manufacturers to buy and use them in their products. The ones that I remember are: realtek, VIA, wolfson, cirrus, and burson. Companies like asus don't produce DAC chips, they buy them from the few manufacturers (my xonar DG is VIA, I think) to be used in its products.

Try going to the audio center (or something) and search for the effect tab. You might have accidentally turn on one of the reverb effect, something like 'bathroom', 'padded cell', 'sewer', etc. Oh and you did plug it to the 'front LR' jack, right?

More like novelties. Tried it only for fun. Some musics sound hilarious with the effects on. But yeah, honestly I can't think of anyone who would keep it on on purpose. The 'concert hall' is the most acceptable one, kind of halfway to dolby headphone (which I don't like anyway, but some people like it)

Yes I already checked that tab and all of them are on default, even the equalizer is on default flat.

Front LR jack, you mean to say the green slot right? I have it on the green slot right now.

Sorry I dont know much about this.
