So i've been having some problems the last month with my PC, i have a ryzen 7 3700x, 32 gb ddr4 3200mhz trident z royal ram, MSI 3060ti Ventus OC 2x. It's only happened during gaming so far, randomly my game with freeze and then both my screens go black, but i can still see discolored text on my screen in random areas, showing text from discord or my game. I have to reboot my computer to get it back to working. Im not sure whats causing this, ive been using a undervolt on my gpu due to its high temps and from what ive read that is okay to do and should not hurt the card. The card isnt overheating when the crash occurs and its random so its hard to watch anything else going on with the pc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It could be a bad GPU, RAM, Motherboard, or PSU.

Is it only during a specific game and what PSU do you have?

Edit:
When you say you undervolted it. Did you just under-volt or under-volt and down clock the card? If you just under-volted that's likely what's causing your crashes under load.

Ive been playing rust when it happens, i dont play much else recently so i can't confirm it happens in other games. I followed a tutorial on youtube for undervolting my card, i believe i overclocked the memory and changed the core clock.

Thats the guide i followed and ive been playing with it like this for a while now, no problems until about a month ago is when the first crash happened, and probably about 3 more times since.

Undo the mods you made and try running it stock for a while. Reducing power and increasing memory clockspeed is a common cause of GPU artifacting.

Im not too familiar with the event viewer but i will check it out and see what i can find.

Event viewer is really handy for me, generally when error happens I open it right away and see what latest events are. Generally gives a good idea what has error’d, or at least a code to google and go from there.
