Hello,

I listen to a lot of music and after some time, I found that the sound from laptop isn't as good as my iPad or other newer devices. So I've been lokking through getting a usb sound card not too expensive and I found those:

-Asus Xonar U3: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829132022

-Creative Go! 70SB129000000: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102036

-Sewell SoundBox: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sewell-SoundBox-External-Sound-Channel/dp/B004Y0ERRO/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1400191904&sr=8-6&keywords=usb+sound+card

These are all within my price range, but they all have mixed reviews so I do not know which one is best. I would mainly use it to listen to music with high quality, play games and watch movies. However, I am also a hobby composer, therefore I would need the high bit rate and frequency of the cards. Obviously, I am thinking of upgrading to a desktop in a year or two to have a full audio production with intergrated sound card but for now, I only have a laptop. I read that the Asus does not support ASIO drivers but would it be possible to enable them?

Which card is the best?

Do you have any recommendations on other usb sound cards?

Thanks!

Well I travel a lot so I would need something portable and also I will still use my laptop after I get a desktop, so I will still get an internal sound card for my build later. Right now I don't want to spend too much money, so the ones I linked are in my price range at the moment.

Has anyone tried those?

I tried the Asus u3 before and it's complete junk. The static is unbearable. I even sent in an RMA to make sure it wasn't just that unit. The same thing happened with the new one.
