externalhdd My hdd makes whining sounds

My external hdd which i've had for about 1.5 years today stopped showing up on my pc ( can still eject the drive)

And started whining like in the video 

Is there any fix ??

There is no fix - sorry.

 

Get the data off the drive and copied elsewhere - you might lose it soon, you might not. Good luck

Yikes. Time to decide how important the data on that drive is.

It is hard to tell from the video but that sounds like a head failure, either a crash or a failure to move from the load ramp. Definitely not something you can fix yourself, hope you have a backup.
