4070 vs 4070ti vs 7900xt

TraumaNP

Budget (including currency): $2500

Country: US

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 1440p gaming

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I am building a new PC for gaming. I am upgrading from 5 years ago. I currently have a rtx 2070 gpu. But this is a completely new build. I have an Intel i7-13700kf, Aorus Z790 Elite AX motherboard, 2x16gb Corsair Vengeance ddr5 6000 ram, Corsair H150i Elite cooler, Samsung 970 EVO 2 Tb m.2, 3 x Corsair AF120 case fans, MSI MPG A850 psu, cablemod white psu cables, white ASUS Tuf 502 case, MSI 32" 175 Mhz Optix MPG321QRF-QD monitor, Corsair k70 keyboard and a Corsair Scimitar mouse. I initially purchased an MSI RTX 4070 gpu but it was DOA. It is out of stock so I need to pick out a new GPU. The 4070 prices have creeped to $650 but I can get a 4070ti for $800 or a 7900xt for $789.

Should I stick with the 4070 or pay the extra $120 or $140 to upgrade to the 7900xt or 4070ti, respectively? I am playing games at 1440p. I don't plan to upgrade foer another 5 years. I have done a lot of research but am still undecided.

Thank you

For me, the question is, does Raytracing matter?

If yes then Nvidia, else AMD.

The deep blue sky is infinitely high and crystal clear.
