Found this setup on eBay for 800 US dollars with a 3070ti wondering if it’s a good deal. I only play flight simulators and small games like warthunder

The D15 Chromax sink is worth 100$ alone brand new, although you need to check on why OP removed the fans. Felt like they're hiding whether or not its the D15 which has 2 fans, or D15S which as 1 fan. They perform around 3-5 degrees apart, so yeah kind of a bummer if its the S but not a deal breaker.

5800X3D should be a slot in upgrade thatll kick ass on most simulator title but we would need to know what actual board it comes with. MSI makes a lot of AM4 boards and it varies on whether they can easily handle it or if it'll need some help, or if it just flat out cant. Ripjawz V 3200 could be anything but for just XMP operation they are reliable dog. That H510 NZXT case is kind of a sore spot for me but they should be fine for what's inside here. 1000W PSU is mystery meat, because 1000W gold is ripe for PSU charlatans selling PSU that are only borderline safe for anything.

If you can get it for 750-800, I say its fine. Nothing remarkable or to flex on, but you'd get a PC that if corrected a bit, would last a while for simulator.

Ok thanks I plan to fix whatever cooling setup he has with a cpu water cooler from nzxt I got for 35 bucks. Also should I change out the power supply to something better. And also what would limit the motherboard from being able to handle certain games? Never heard of such a thing but I’m sure there is lol I’m not very knowledgeable on that. The motherboard is an MPG X570 and the water cooler I got is the x62 kracken

Uh no. NF-A15 only cost 15 bucks on Amazon, just remember to ask the seller for the included fan clip mount, or atleast their proof of purchase so you can send a support ticket to Noctua so they can send them for free. Dont bother with AIO.

Its less that and more the CPU itself. 5800X3D and higher has a massive current demand that not every board can service very well. When this happen, CPU will start a power throttle when the VRM array exceed certain current limit or more likely temperature limit. Its just like thermal throttling but when this happen you basically cant fix it by slapping better cooler on the CPU, you have to either get a better board or cool the board's VRM array yourself with fans. If youre asking where VRMs are, theyre usually attached to the top left side of the CPU socket.

Again, mystery. If it turns out to be a decent 1000W unit then you dont need to. Im saying that to just make sure to budget that just in case, or just ask OP for the PSU picture.

Oh ok well I already got the AIO but I can always resale it since I got it so cheap or I’ll just resale the air cooler whichever one is gonna be quieter is the one I want. Also the motherboard is the msi MPG X570. Considering there’s only one noctua fan in the case I think it is the S version

Break a leg, the entire MPG line should be able to handle it.

NH-D15 used 140mm fan with 150mm square frame, which is what NF-A15 is. Theyre different than your usual 140mm fans although they are easy to put in with the same clip that the A-15 uses.

The chassis fan looks like stock Aer fans thats included anyway, and those are 120mm, not 140mm.
