Best Mid Range GPU?

So I've been thinking of building my first ever pc and I managed to get a budget of about $1200, but from all of the existing gpu's i don't  know which one would fit me best. The computer is mainly for gaming but also schoolwork. Thanks a lot!

Probably would be better to ask about the computer as a whole rather than just the GPU, remaking this post in the New Builds and Planning format. 

 

For a $1200 budget I'd be hoping for something of at least an RX 6700 XT/6750 XT, though you can probably squeeze an RX 6800 XT (maybe even the upcoming RX 7800 XT depending on price) in there if you try.
