I have a spare sata SSD that I want to use on my laptop and when I try to put it in, it's not showing up. 

 

 

Laptop:  IdeaPad Gaming 3 15IMH05

with a  crucial MX500 2.5 SSD

 

I have looked around and it comes up with something like intel VDH needs to be turned off but I can't find that in my BIOS or something about secure boot needing to be turned off, and I have tried to take out my boot SSD too.

If I only have the New SSD plugged in it comes up as no bootable device. 

If I add it with the SSD I have in my device now it doesn't show up in THIS PC or in Device manager.

It's "not showing up" as in "it doesn't appear under This PC with its own drive letter", or "it's not even on the list in Disk Management"?

both, when I have it installed it doesn't show up on this pc, and if I just have that one in it shows up as there is no bootable device

If it’s not inicjalizated, the it is possible for both scenario.

 

just plug it in, and go to the disc management and device management, and see what you have there ( do screens and post it here ).

The secure boot off option, is only if you would want to boot from it.

 it’s strange, it should just show up.  I have no idea.
