Dead as a Dodo

Go to solution Solved by Sawa Takahashi,

The usual. You test with the PSU, motherboard and CPU. If you cannot get any reaction, try to remove the CPU and flash the BIOS. This board supports updating BIOS without any peripherals on it. If the board is still unresponsive and the BIOS flash isn't working, you need to RMA (or return, or exchange, at your leisure).

Good luck !

I've just started a new build after taking advantage of Prime day and it's not going well...

After assembling the components I'm getting nothing, no fans spinning, no LEDs no indication of life at all.

I'm testing outside the case and the motherboard has a switch to allow you to power it on without having to short any pins.

I can rule out the PSU as I have a power supply tester and it indicates that it's working as intended.

So my question is, how do I determine where the fault lies so I can return the relevant item if needed?

New system setup consists of:

Corsair RM850e PSU

Gigabyte Aorus Elite AX B650 Motherboard

Ryzen 7700X CPU

Thermalright Peerless Assasin Cooler

2x16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000Mhz RAM

1GB Samsung PCIe 990 Pro NVMe

Radeon RX6950XT GPU

I gave it a go and the only time I saw any sign of life from the motherboard was when I tried to update the BIOS. A single red LED (and one on the flash drive).

After that again nothing from the board. I've returned the Motherboard and the CPU.
