i have reinstalled windows not long ago due to my computer having software problems with bluetooth

so i reinstalled the windows and downloaded some of my games (minecraft valorant and games that dont dont require a lot)

but as soon i intalled then windows i saw that my gpu has been slowed down so when i launch the game in the begining i get around 200 fps but which what i had before the installed windows but after 5 min it will start going down to 150 then to 100 then 100 then 50 then 40 and after the 40 my computer's screen just goes black and unresponsive i try (win+ctrl+shift+b) reload gpu but its no use and i just have to turn it of from the case it's self.
I reinstalled the drivers and the problem still remaind idk what to do ;-; someone plz help

A GT640? I'm surprised you'd get anything above 60fps. Have you tried running a benchmark? Timespy, Fur-mark, Heaven, fire-strike Etc? Try running a benchmark, if the same thing occurs, use a utility to monitor the temp of the die. If the temps are in spec, and the card black screens on the benchmarks as well, then I would start looking for a new card. It sounds like the GPU may be on the way out. GCN 5.0 (RX-5XX) is very cheap right now, as well as old GTX10XX and RTX20XX series. Though if you're on an extreme budget, an RX550 can be picked up for about $20 on eBay.

If you want to go harder into GT640, start a Linux ISO and try to run a game off the card in Linux, if the card runs fine, you have a software problem from the game, or the OS. You could try an older game version to see if that helps. Other than that, this card isn't worth a lot, and i doubt you'd want to start looking into memory chip replacements or other board level problems.
