Pc not starting up

Hello, I've built a gaming pc pretty much. But the cpu and cpu coolers have not been installed yet. This is because when I ordered everything Amazon failed to deliver my cpu so it's coming at a later date. To pass time I decided to create the build without the cpu and see what happens. Everything looks good but it won't start up? Well when I turn the power supply on only the top right of the motherboard lights up in rgb. Is this because I've built something wrong or is it just the cpu missing. Basically my question is, can everything in a pc run without the cpu? Fans, etc. Here is the build. Is everything looking good or did I mess up somewhere? And the cpu is coming tomorrow so I'm only reassuring my self.

Not every motherboard is capable of posting without a cpu, you know that right?

 

Many motherboards have the ability to flash the bios without a CPU, but that's not the same as it posting without a CPU.

Hello the cpu is here and installed yet it still won't turn on? Same issue?

You are daisy chaining the 8 pin connector. That cable is only rated to 150w per cable and you’re trying to pull closer to 250 through it. Run a second separate 8 pin from the psu.

If those pictures are accurate, you're trying to power a graphics card that has three power headers with just one cable. You're gonna need at least two cables bro, one ain't gonna work. In my experience you can usually get by daisy chaining two of the headers with one cable, but you're still gonna need at least two actual cables running to your graphics card. Ideally you should have a cable for each header, but like I said as long as you're using two cables you can usually get by with daisy chaining one of them to the remaining header.

One thing I also want to mention, when it comes to newly built AMD systems, don't be alarmed if the system doesn't post immediately after turning on the system. With AMD motherboards whenever they're booted with a new CPU and/or set of ram it can take a good minute or two for it to finally post, since there's many things that are going on under the hood with the motherboard setting them up.

 

Another thing I want to point out is ram compatibility. It's recommended to check on your motherboard vendors product page to see if whatever kit of ram you're looking to buy is compatible. From my understanding speeds over 6000mhz don't seem to work with AMD boards, in case that's what kind of ram you're using there. While you're at it, you should give us a rundown of your hardware, so we can give you better advice.

I saw the daisy chain but missed the missing connector. Good catch! Yeah, no way that will work.

Alright I understand what you're talking about and I've fixed it. Everything boots up now but there's one small problem. There's a button at the top of my case that's constantly flashing red. I don't know what it is or what it's for but it's always flashing red. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Y7xTv3  here is my case as well

That won't an issue. That light more than likely is a HDD activity light. Basically if your PC is reading or writing from one of your drives, that thing will flash. It's common in computer cases.

One last thing the top right of my motherboard is glowing rgb yet my pc runs why is this? I can send pictures if you want but everything works fine yet it's rainbow? I don't get why my motherboard is lighting up.

A lot of modern day motherboards have RGB, not just on the front facing parts, but even along the ends of the back side of it. My current motherboard (which is an X670E of the one you have) has some along its sides and on the front of it in some places. If you download one of the utility tools from Asrock you should be able to customize the RGB or even turn it off entirely.

 

Also for the motherboard RGB, unless the PC is unplugged, a lot of systems will still keep the RGB showing, even if the system is in sleep mode or is shut down.
