Summary

fitbit (AKA Google) updated the firmware on the Charge 5 recently.  It didn't go well.

My thoughts

Over a week ago fitbit (now owned by Google) released an update for the Charge 5.  This tracker has quite the following, due to it's wide ranging features, including compatibility with both Android and Apple phones.  (It also has a history of aggravating issues)  The update has made many devices unusable, with many having only a blank screen.  The "help" from fitbit has been  inadequate to say the least.  This is an ongoing issue (as of July 9, 2023)  I won't be buying a replacement, no matter how good a deal I find during Amazon's Prime Days.  I won't be looking at the Pixel watch either.
