i would just wait and get the i5 4690k when it comes out with a Z97 board

Why not just wait a little bit longer? These components are going to be on sale anytime now. Just go with an i5-4690K and a Z97 MoBo.

Per how the prices are on the new refresh of the boards and CPUs, there's no point in going with Z87. And because Intel is a jackass and doesn't care to cater to the people that provide them the most money (enthusiasts), the current generation CPUs won't work on Z97. Which is stupid.. It's the very next edition!

Why not just wait a little bit longer? These components are going to be on sale anytime now. Just go with an i5-4690K and a Z97 MoBo.

yes but remember the refresh and the 5th generation are going to be supported on Z97 and the i5 4690k is coming ou the 2nd of June supposedly so i would just wait @Drooling Guy

Yeah, I know the release dates. I know it's a little bit of a wait, but as both of us have stated, he should wait anyways as it's worth it.

All current haswell i3's i5's and i7's will work with z97
