Using my phone for a few minutes when it's charging can cause it to shut off, showing the "charging screen" as if it's fully discharged, then going back to (semi) normal, showing the actual battery charge

Unless i let it charge up for a bit after this occurs, it'll keep doing that, with the phone getting strangely warm

Is this something i should be worried about? Should I get my phone checked out, maybe battery replacement?

Dont use the phone while charging, its already gonna get pretty warm while charging, if y ou are also using it pretty heavily it will heat up a lot more.

Generally just let it charge when you arent doing anything.

That's not normal behavior. Has the battery life been any worse lately than it has been in the past?

The phone can get quite warm during charging, but there's no reason for it to turn off and act like the battery is completely discharged. Even if it's charging at the full 45W that it supports the phone will throttle itself (both power draw and CPU speed) and dim the display if it's getting too warm. What OP is describing is not normal behavior.

Not that I've noticed, no. Battery life seems just as long.

What charger are you using?

In the developer options, there's GPU monitoring. This shows you your CPU&GPU usage and temperature. I'd check if your CPU usage is really high. I found that having it enabled reduced my battery life by quite a bit though but my phone has a tendency to randomly start using way more power on the CPU than usual and lasting way shorter, so it might just have been one of these days...
