CPU Upgrade?

Budget (including currency): £500

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: work/gaming

Other details currently have an i7 9700k, on an ROG strix z390f with 16GB dual channel ddr4 3000hz, with a 2070 Super. I'm getting 75%-100% cpu usage. Could someone recommend a suitable CPU upgrade for this build?

There isn't really a CPU upgrade on that platform. You could go AM5 or LGA 1700. Intel would let you keep your current ram to have a big bigger of a CPU upgrade though.

A 12600k would also be a very good upgrade from a 9700k and save another 70 GBP if you wanted to be closer to the 400 mark.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.
