Canada

$4000-5000

I'm wanting to use-

*rtx 4080

*i7 13700kf

I plan on playing mainly games in 1440p -4k  using one monitor

I know ill need lots of ram but just not sure about the motherboard I need options on a new build im more concerned about being able to play all the modern games without lagging so even 1440p I guess I would be ok with but if I can spend a little more to play 4k then why not right but ya I need help.

You dont. 32GB is currently a fuck ton for gaming only, and that is the ground floor of DDR5 memory.

In what world do any of those cards use anywhere near that much power? Our Zotac cards are limited to 450W....

It gives the OP some headroom.

Build edited. This knocks off $50 off the psu.

A 4090 doesn't draw 450w all the time. And even so your cpu only draws probably 200w max meaning even an 850w psu should be fine

At ~400W my Zotac refused to hit 80c when it was still on air. I'm still running it off a 3x8 pin adapter so it's yet to get above 450W. In a loop with my 13900k it almost never gets above 65C unless I'm doing something really dumb with both at once. I'll quote a post of mine from not too long after I got it in my computer while it was still on air.

image.png.0d92f8e4afee6b34ee754782eed1d0

330W for as long as you can see, very high gpu load as long as you can see. 62C hot spot with none of the fans running at full bore.

Just now, Why_Me said:

A 1000W PSU will do more than fine with a Zotac card limited to 450w. Recommending a 1.2 or 1.3KW power supply for twice the price is what happens when everyone in the supply chain over estimates and is a bit asinine. 1000W leaves headroom which is why it's the recommended power supply wattage, and the power supply wattage 99% of people go for with a 4090.

Quick math. 450+250 = just over half what what you are trying to recommend....
