I am looking to upgrade my psu to an 850 corsair shift and was wondering if there would be any issues with it i am currently running a gigabyte 450 elite motherboard with a 3600x from what i can tell it should be a straight up swap from my old unit to this but not entirely sure and would love to get some advice before dropping £150 on something i cant use

£150

Get yourself a 1000w unit for less

Rm1000e 124£

Youll only have to worry about the psu fitting in your case and if your case even accomodates the things odd cable location so specify what case you have

still i geniunely do not understand why anyone would choose an overpriced 850w over a cheaper 1000w unit

i wont need the 1000 as will only be getting maybe a 4070 or 4070 ti at a push plus the new shift comes with all the new cables in case the card i get needs the new cable plus i have just checked the prices and the 850 shift is £138 on sale and the 1000w normal is £164 plus the shift comes with no questions asked returns so if it does not work it wont cost me anything according to what amazon is saying

The cables are on the other side or does the case have glass on both sides?

the case has glass on both sides but on the side the would be on with the shift i have a two inch gap between were it will sit and the glass so space is not an issue it was mainly if it was compatible with my current hardware since it pcie 5
