Diy egpu (thunderbolt)

i mean.. he found a device that exposes the PCIe lanes from thunderbolt to an M.2 slot, and then uses an M.2 to PCIe slot adapter card.

 

there's no reason why it wouldnt work, but by the time you get the TB device, the PCIe adapter, a power supply, and a trip to home depot for a wooden board to hold your mess together.. you're painfully close to just buying an off the shelf enclosure.
