Hi, thanks in advanced.

From some reason the Fortnite game stopped working.

It worked many times before, but it stopped.

I did nothing special, maybe it occurred around the time I moved the games from C drive to D drive.

It launches but I only see a black screen. I can even hear sound but no picture (a skip bottom on the right bottom corner that leads to nowhere).

Therefore, I think it is a GPU issue.

I googled endlessly but none of the steps below helped.

* I modified the GameUserSettings.ini from the local app data

* I deleted the GameUserSettings.ini and let the game recreate it

* I updated the firewall

* I did a clean installation of the latest NVIDIA driver

* I updated all windows update

* I checked directX is okay

* I uninstalled and reinstalled the game

* The anti cheat is installed again (I never mess with it)

* I tried computability mode but I'm not sure I did it right.

* I tried to launch from Epic and from GeForce exp.

* I tried full window, window, 100% scale, 125% scale (I saw this on the internet!).

* I tried to reduce the settings in different ways but nothing helped.

Any other game works - Subnautica, Rouge, Hogwarts Legacy, Sims4.

I even run a GPU benchmark successfully.

Even Fortnite itself works on my other weak laptop, just stopped working on my PC.

other GPU games work fine.

From task manager:

* GPU 3D utilization = 1%

* Dedicated GPU memory usage = 3.9GB

* Shared GPU memory usage = 0.3GB

I have RTX 3060 TI founders edition with AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, 16GB ram and windows 10 22H2.

help 😪 please

for fortnitee if you just move the game files it wont work

you can move the game ofc but the other stuff is still routed to going to the other files

for example in documents the fortnte folder will route to where it was installed, if u moved the game files to another drive you wont be able to open the game since it tries to open something that doesnt exist becausse you replaced it

you need to actualy reinstall it

Dont forget to mark as solution if your question is answered

Note: My advice is amateur help/beginner troubleshooting, someone else can probably troubleshoot way better than me.

- I do have some experience, and I can use google pretty well. - Feel free to quote me I may respond soon.

Thanks friend, but it's not this.

I did reinstall, twice.

Anyway, I just thought of a great idea (20 minutes after the post of course) - I took the GameUserSettings.ini from my laptop and overwrite the GameUserSettings.ini of my PC.

It works! sluggishly 😞 But it is a progress 🙂

I attach the two files for comparison. Something in those settings make it happen.

Thanks

well you said you "moved" the game from C to D so sorry for misunderstanding

try to verify the games files again

it might be the same as with rocket league, where you go to my games folder in documents, and chane ur game folder name to rocket league old, but in this case rename it to fortnite old, then launch the game

try this pls
