Hi all! I have had my pc since late 2018 without any substantial upgrades and the following specs:

CPU: Ryzen 7 2700x

GPU: GTX 1080 TI

Motherboard: X470 AORUS GAMING 7 WIFI

RAM: 2x 8GB corsair vengeance at 3000 ram-speed units

PSU: EVGA 650W unit 80+ gold

Storage: samsung sata ssd’s and most importantly a 250 GB Samsung M.2 NVME SSD

Around a year ago I wanted to set up a dual boot of Ubuntu alongside my previous windows 10 installation. To do so I added the aforementioned M.2 drive and installed it to there. During this process I took the time to clean the entire pc since I had it open and therefore had some parts reassembled like my GPU.

Almost straight away I started encountering issues with my pc randomly restarting without any form of error message or any clear pattern except that it’s (sometimes) during higher load and most often close to me starting it. The issues can sometimes go away for a month just to return as common as ever.

I have tried redoing all the power cables in the computer, reseating the RAM (that was never removed when the problem started), have at first disabled the new drive and now removed it but the issues persist.

While a restart almost always happens during high load, a high load doesn't always cause a restart.

I’d be grateful for any help troubleshooting since I’m starting to lose my mind during times when it happens a lot.
