Can you remove the ram XMP profile and see if its stable.  XMP is basically a ram overclock and its not a guarantee that it will work.

Hi I don't normally need to ask for help. I can normally find what I'm looking for on internet or YouTube. (Which brings me on to this segway) like LTT YouTube channel, where you can find lots of tips and trick to get you pc running it's best.

Anyway I use to build my own computers a long time ago. Then got bored fixing friend's Packard Bells once they knew.

Just recently I've rebuilt my ready made pc with a new board and case. Problem is I can't seem to get the bios right.

I just want it to be stable. It's doesn't need overclocking as it plays the games I want, but crashed sometimes. The new board lets me change everything where the old one didn't. So my ram is now running at 3600 as it should.

But I think I've done something wrong some where and can't figure out what. I'm not use to all the options.

If anyone can help with some advice on setting the bios up that would be fantastic.

My pc isn't anything fancy. Just upgrade when I can.

The spec is

Asus strix z270f gaming motherboard

I7 7700k CPU with Asus liquid cooler from the ready built

Corsair vengeance 16gb 3600

Geforce gtx 1070 8gb

Bios is 1501 ver

Thank you in adavance

That error code is helpful you know 🙂

You might have unstable RAM overclock. And yes if you enabled XMP in Bios that is considered as OC.

Anyways, that error code could be helpful.

Also,what PSU are u using?

GPU : RTX 3070 Gaming X TRIO | CPU : Ryzen 5 7600 \ COOLER : Deepcool AK620 | MOBO : ASUS TUF Gaming B650 Plus | RAM : Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 16GBx2 6200 MHz \ Storage : Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2 1TB \ PSU : Corsair TX750M | CASE : Be Quite! Pure Base 500DX Black

Didn't know that. I just thought it was a way of telling the bios what type of ram is there.

Will keep an eye out and see what the messages are. Had 2 different ones. One was something like wolf something something. I'll try and get a pic if it does it again.

PSU is a 650 I think maybe 750.

Can't get to it at the moment. My kid is doing school work in that room at the moment.

Thanks guys. By Disabling the XMP profile it didn't crash. I also disabled the CPU turbo.

Not to sound ungrateful but anyone know how to get the ram to run at it intended speed please.

You could try doing OC manually . Maybe you wont get up to 3600 but you might get close.

XMP working is never a given .Even though you buy 3600mhz RAM it is not 100% that you will get to that speed , only the lower number . There's motherboard and cpu involved as well . Only 2133 MT/s default speed is guarantee.

For example i can only run my 6200mhz RAM at 5800 at the moment.

Is your Bios up to date btw? If there's newer version you should update your bios and try again with the XMP . They usually improve memory stability with newer revisions.

EDIT : You can also check this list https://pangoly.com/en/compatibility/asus-strix-z270f-gaming/ram to see if your ram is in the list for the motherboard.
