It's Corsair's 850W RMx 80+ Gold. I've had it for a while though, could be worth an upgrade too.

that'll be more than fine for now. Even alright for later. No need to upgrade now i don't think

I like the light colour theme, that'll work well with the case. I'll most likely be upgrading the RAM to 64GB,

then go for this kit of ram G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR5-5600 CL28 Memory (F5-5600J2834F32GX2-TZ5RS) - PCPartPicker

would your recommendation still stand in this case?

the O11 XL is still a very good case. No need for upgrade there either. Maybe add some fans if you want

I'd also probably opt for an AIO, I just like how they look, would you have a recommendation for that?

Yup, keeping the colour theme, this one from deepcool is a good one Deepcool LS720 WH 85.85 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (R-LS720-WHAMNT-G-1) - PCPartPicker

but this one from lian li looks stunning and performs well too Lian Li GALAHAD AIO 360 RGB UNI FAN SL120 EDITION 58.54 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (GA-360SLA) - PCPartPicker

Budget (including currency): any, although nothing massively overkill, I don't need a custom water-cooling loop for example 🙂

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming, programming, browsing, media

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

My current parts:

R9 3900X

3090 FE

32GB RAM @ 3333MHz

MSI X570 Gaming Edge WiFi

Lian Li O11 Dynamic

I'm looking to upgrade my parts, I want to have DDR5 support, so any recommendations for new motherboards, CPUs, and RAM would be great, I'll most likely be keeping the 3090 for a while, I'll upgrade that in the future.

Cheers!

What psu do you have? I would get a 7800X3D instead of intel's offerings since their more power efficient and the energy prices over here are terrible!

Get a Ryzen 7 5800X3D. It's the equivalent of a Ryzen 7 7700X in most games, they trade blows. And it's more than enough not to bottleneck the RTX 3090.

And if you're on 1080p (I hope you're not), get a 1440p monitor.

Really looking to upgrade to DDR5, so I'll most likely be going for AM5 here.

I've been looking at the 7900X3D and even the 7950X3D, I'd really like those extra cores for some H.256 encoding and other misc CPU tasks. Is the price difference between the 7800X3D and the 7900X3D or even 7950X3D worth it?

the extra cores aren't worth it as the cache needs to wait for those cores which slows down the game in both performance and encoding. Also the 3090 has the NVENC encoder so will be pretty good for streaming. And no its not worth the price difference. If you really want the extra cores then get the 7900 non x and then overclock it a bit or get the 7900x
