So I have an i7-4770 in my system, is it time to upgrade? Or should I still be able to get by with 1080p gaming for a while? I would prefer to not have to upgrade, as I don't have any money at the moment...

If you dont have money, you cannot upgrade. Pretty simple. Not much use in asking if you cant afford it. Would you benefit from upgrading? Yes of course, but if you cant then you just gotta keep working and such until you can.

It depends on the games you play, the gpu your using, your refresh rate, etc. If youre playing lighter games and only aiming for 60fps then yes it can probably handle it. But if you want to play heavier AAA games or play at 144hz+ then yes it may be worth it to upgrade.

If you are happy with the performance you are getting then there is no reason to upgrade.
