Go to solution Solved by PDifolco,

It's compatible, problem may be that old B550 BIOS (dating from 3000 era) may not support the 4000 series that are more recent

On new parts there should be no issue, BIOS are updated

hello there

just bought my first gaming pc, got an amd ryzen 5 4500 and a asus tuf b550m-e mobo. mobo says its ryzen 3000 & 5000 ready but cpu is 4000 series, now in the cpu box it says both 5000 and 4000 series, wich got me confused. is there anything i have to watch out for??

sorry for bad grammar and typos, im not native english speaking

It does support it.

for reference you can check the motherboards product page - there will be a cpu support list.
