Cooling issue Omen 870-224

Hello everyone! I have an Omen 870-224 and have slowly started to upgrade for better performance. Maxed out the ram, added a 1TB SSD and most recently upgraded my CPU to a 7700k. It came with a new fan but wasn't able to install it so I used the old one with fresh thermal paste. Unfortunately now it's starting to overheat and I'm not really sure why. The fan is still kicking on but then shuts down after slicing in cura. Are there any fans that I could add to this rig to help the cooling? Thank you!

Firstly, whats the cpu cooler specifically? And that case doesn't have exactly magical airflow so try and put fans on the side where the mesh is

Take my advice with a grain of salt. Not too much tho, we don’t want ourselves getting dehydrated do we?

The cooler for the CPU is just the stock fan that it came with, part number 644727-001. I have no problem getting more fans on the case, but I'm really new to this so any recommendations for it would be appreciated.

I would probs upgrade the cpu cooler then. Is your pc case full height or half height? And can I see the inside of the case?

I apologize if I double respond. I hit a weird button and don't know where my response went lol. So I'm not sure about the height I'm pretty sure it's full. Also I was planning on using the cooling fan the 770k came with the connection the the board was a plastic lock wheras the stock one was a metal screw.

I would suggest replacing the cooler then. Can u measure the supported height from the cpu socket to the case side panel (i.e. max cpu cooler height) and if you can't measure it then look for a spec sheet

So it looks like it's about 5.5 inches

I'd probs get this then ARCTIC Freezer 7 X CPU Cooler (ACFRE00077A) - PCPartPicker

So this is gonna sound really dumb, but does this install differently than the stock fan?

Do you mean if the mounting mechanism is different? It'll be a little different but it'll work with your cpu socket.

if you mean if it clips on differently then don't worry because it includes a fan on the heatsink
