Hey,

My Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 14ARE05, has run into some problems and i would like to update the BIOS, because I have found that that might help. My current version is DMCN24WW, and the newest version is DMCN44WW, but it says that, that version is only for Windows 10, whereas my pc is Windows 11. So, I would like to hear if it is possible to get the newest BIOS version for my laptop, do i have to download the Windows 10 version? Will that work with my laptop? Can I get the last version that worked with Windows 11, like maybe DMCN43WW if you made that to work with it. Please answer quick since I'm in my exam period and i really need this pc to work to pass. Also, thanks to everyone who would like to help me, I would forever be in your favor!!!

Kindest regards
Oliver

Well i would love to, but Lenovo doesn't even say there's any version of BIOS for Windows 11. So, it's kind of hard to download it.

theres none.png

So, you have one of two choices here, you can either try o update your BIOS and face what happens next, or you can tell me exactly what the issue is that you are experiencing that made you want to upgrade the BIOS in the first place.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Maybe Restart it?

Alright, the laptop has a standby mode problem, where 1st it doesn't want to wake from standby mode, and when it eventually does, it then acts like it has been turned off, 2nd sometimes it just randomly turns on even when in my backpack, where it just overheats to the point where I can't even touch it, and lastly 3rd, it just sometimes crashes, where everything I've written in word for that active session even though I've saved it, is deleted. Note the laptop is from 2020.

Also, I've updated windows, and checked the windows settings for standby mode, and it's set to going to sleep after 4 minutes inactive, but when it goes to sleep even when the screen is up, note that touching the keyboard also does nothing, that won't wake it.

Firstly, you can try disabling the Modern Standby mode and switch back to the S3 power state mode. This is because Modern Standby permits battery-draining background activity, like system updates and downloads which could be causing your laptop to overheat

Secondly, you can try checking the air flow and heat transfer of your laptop. Most laptops have vents on the bottom which could be blocked by dust or other debris. You can use a can of compressed air to clean out any dust or debris that might be blocking the vents

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Maybe Restart it?

  1. Check if there are any other updates available for your laptop (such as drivers or firmware updates) that may help resolve the issue.
  2. Try resetting your BIOS settings to their default values.
  3. Contact the manufacturer’s support team for further assistance.
