Hey there,
I'm kinda new to this channel which I found though some google search after watching so many videos of linus, so I hope I'm at the correct spot to find someone that could help me with my troubleshoot^^
English or German should both be fine for me if there is someone out there who is more comfortable in reaching out in German. Thanks already !

So.. I am having issues with my PC which randomly turns off, idle and under load seems to be not important as far as I can tell. When the problem occurs I cannot define sadly or recreate to run something that checks in on it.
As said, my pc has some hickups which leads to it shutting down. When it's down, there sometimes is the case where it wont start up when hitting the power button but after some time, it works flawlessly. To note would be aswell, that sometimes it crashes several times within minutes and someitmes it runs for hours or even days (with powering off or hibernate in between or even on 24/7) without a problem in the world.

I'm fairly certain it comes down to my power supply or my motherboard for the problems, but that's just a guess I made from google searches etc.

For informations, I can give
- Reliablility Monitor (Zuverlässigkeitsverlauf)
- Event Viewer (Ereignisanzeige)
- HWiNFO64 Informations
- HWiNFO64 Log
- Systeminformations
And of course everything else that is asked for to boil down the problem if needed. Ahead, I'll add the mentioned things already to this message.

Hopefully there is some brilliant soul out there that can figure out more than I did so far. I will check in to that channel frequently but I can be contacted via message at any time. That would be absolutely amazing since my next step would be to bring my PC to some sort of store around to have it checked.Thank you so much in advance already

that should be enough.

how old is your system? .. it looks like a 2018 system upgraded with 3080 2 years ago.

you can start by setting your memory to 3000mhz.. as the second kit are only 3k kit.. and max speed should only be the slowest ram.  and check if it's more stabile.

and disconnect all 4 hdd's..  just run from the nvme.. i assume that's your boot drive.

i've seen defect hdd's shut down computers before.

only do one change pr test.. so first memory downclock..  test.. then disconnect the HDD's. power and sata.

you have alot of usb devices too.. if it still shuts down. try disconnecting them all. (except mouse and keyboard.)

is this water or air cooled? how many fans are running?

I bought the 3080, a new psu and a new mainboard and added two sticks of 8gb of ram all at once at the time I got my hands on the gpu which should be around a year ago but second hand. The rest of the systems might be build around 2018, you could be right about that yea

ah.. swap the ram kits around so you use xmp from the slow one.. it should set it automaticaly to 3000 . and use it's timing too.

Thank you for the advice! I will do all of that but I sadly had to leave my pc for minimum this weekend so I'll come back to that and let you know how it's doing.

But on that. You said, check if it is more stable. I, as said, have no idea how to do that. I know stresstesting or benching etc. But my pc, said he wants to, handles all of that with no problems at times. Then, same test, it could crash. But said from experience, I don't think that the crash and the test correlate. Sometimes I just start it, and it shuts down. Sometimes it runs for hours and days straight and than I grab a glas of water and it breaks down.

How can I see or figure out if it actually got more stable if I am unable to recreate the event (or know of one) that causes the crashes?

Thank you a lot for your interest and help already!

that's the problem with your kind of case..  you just have to wait and see if it's not crashing..  but since your memory config generaly is wrong.. that's a good start.

you could do memory test to see if all passes are good.

you could actually do that before you start tinkering with it...  but since we want a stabile setup first.. swap around your memory kits so it reads the slowest one first and use that XMP profile at 3000mhz..

Thanks! I have little to no idea how to actually swap them around correctly. So to not bother you to much 😅 what should I google for that to get me to the information I need to implement your idea about the memory kits?

well.. usually when you have 4 slots. every second is one channel. so from the cpu. first and third are same channel and should be a pair or one kit. . second and fourth are the other channel. it's tabs usually on both sides you have to press on to release a ram chip.  so on slot 1 and 3 press inn the top and bottom lock.. and remove them.. then do the same for 2.. and just press it into slot 1. it's a notch almost in the middle and you will hear clicks from the locking tabs when they lock in place. .. then do the same for the one in 4th slot.. take it out and put it into 3rd..  then make sure the other two line up with the notch in the middle as it is a bit offsett and press them in too. until it clicks on both sides.  repeat for last.
